What we do
We specialize in video production for conferences, conventions, and events.
Why? Because in live event work, there is no time – and no opportunity – for “do-overs”. Your video team has to get it right the first time, or it’s lost forever. With more years of experience in live events than we really care to admit, this married team of Grant and K’ai Roberts Fu has seen it all, and can handle anything.
A few things to know about us:
We know what capture, how to frame the shots, how to get attendees to give great testimonials, and how to weave a multitude of video clips into an impactful story. We excel at working independently, so you can focus on your event. And, we have a show business mindset – whatever happens, the Show Will Go On.
Director, Video Editor, Tech Wizard
Born and raised in Honolulu, Grant has been an entrepreneur since he founded "Tropical Nights Productions" DJ and karaoke services in 1985. In 1989 he added video production to his offerings, as "Lazer Tech Hawaii." Grant relocated to Seattle in 2013 as Magnus Media Group Video Production.
Grant's professional roles have included event producer, video producer, photographer, sales trainer, video DJ, karaoke host, actor, and voice talent. He has a degree in Psychology from the University of Hawaii.
Recognized as an expert in his field, Grant has twice been a featured speaker at the annual WEVA (Wedding and Event Videographer’s Association) in Las Vegas.
In his rare moments of down-time, Grant may be found skiing (a significant motivator for the move to Seattle), traveling, playing racquetball, singing, dancing Argentine Tango, and watching Classic Star Trek, Stargate, and the new “Webby”-winning “Star Trek Continues.” He is an avid traveler and has visited Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, Australia, Greece, Italy, Turkey, Canada, Mexico, Belgium, Germany, and Ireland.
K'ai Roberts Fu
Writer, Video Editor, Cat-Herder-in-Chief
K’ai Roberts Fu has been in the business of entertainment, event production, and “cat-herding” since the age of seven, when she persuaded a posse of neighborhood kids to march in a Fourth of July parade she directed, complete with costumes, instruments, and rehearsals in the sweltering Indiana summer sun.
A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, K’ai’s career has included Director of Administration for Hawaii’s largest publishing company, International Sales Manager for an automotive chemical company, and Argentine Tango Instructor. She joined Magnus Media Group in 2009.
Now residing in the splendidly rainy city of Seattle, K’ai spends her free time writing; dancing and working out; gardening; pondering Quantum Physics; and (nerd alert!) reading and watching anything that might give her an advantage playing “Jeopardy!”
